Have hope, and don't forget the small but wonderful joys of life. There are things to smile for.
- Slow mornings with fresh coffee.
- Watching candle flames dance,
- And when candle scents fill the room.
- Impromptu baking/cooking to immediately satisfy cravings.
- Ombre colored leaves,
- And forests that explode color.
- When you happen to leave the house during golden hour.
- When you wrap your scarf up to your nose,
- And only feel the cold on your eyelashes.
- Chunky, thick cotton sweaters,
- And when they smell of fabric softner.
- Bright blue skies after dark grey days.
- Having several glasses of wine - but only with the right company.
- Late nights in semi-deep conversation.
- Stress relief through vegetable chopping.
- The clean, fresh-smelling, after-shower feel.
- Surprise birthday celebrations.
- Passing by fresh-smelling flowers on trees or bushes as you walk to class.
- Porch-swinging
- Reunions.
- Reaching the top of an endless set of stairs, with really great views.
- Singaporean food, Korean food, Taiwanese food, every food,
- Especially inexpensive and yet incredibly delicious food.
- Reminders of the Gospel.
- Discovering grade school connections, and how small the world is.
- Coming home.
- Slow walking tours with the family.
- Finishing a job.
- Ergo breaks at work.
- Easy, busy days at work.
- Sunny, breezy days for eating lunch outside.
- Discovering other people's passions.
- Lazy Saturday mornings,
- And Sunday naps.
- Strolling while holding hands.
- Spontaneous potlucks with really great home cooked food.
- Driving into the city at night and seeing the illuminated city skyline,
- And the sweeping beacon light from downtown.
- Seeing the sunrise and clouds over the city on the way to work.
- Learning new things. From cabbage to baseball to podcasts.
- Seeing your city win the World Series. Special shoutout to Astros ;)
- Genuine moments with work people.
- Impromptu weekends with family.
