Pre-ADVENT Taiwan

HELLO FRIENDS!

70% of our team is heading out tomorrow morning for Taiwan, so I wanted to share some prayer requests!! Please join us on missions in prayer support as we go to Taiwan! For those of you I didn't get a chance to give my support letters to, or those that are just curious, this is a slightly modified version of the letter I sent out describing what we're doing and some prayer requests.
God Bless, and thank you!!

Dear____________,

Hello! I hope you’re doing well, and thank you for taking the time to read this letter! (I know it’s long!) But I dearly appreciate it.

This summer from June 30– July 20, I will be going to Taiwan on a mission’s trip with a team of 9 others from PCAC (Plano Chinese Alliance Church) GEL youth group. We’ll be a part of a program called ADVENT Taiwan: Americans Dedicated to Volunteer ENglish Teaching. We will be traveling to several cities and schools in Taiwan to teach English and share the Gospel with the students, preparing lesson plans, skits, and games to teach them.

Since graduating high school and going to Indiana University, I’ve realized just how important my relationship with Christ is to me. In my walk with Him, I’ve discovered that I can trust in Him through my most difficult struggles and worries and He is always steadfast and always so good in bringing me peace, hope, and joy in Him. I have a constant reassurance because of what Christ has done for me, and this is an amazing opportunity for me to be able to share this with students in Taiwan who might never have heard of His Good News. Over 95% of Taiwan’s population identifies themselves as Buddhists, Taoists, or practitioners of folk religions, so we hope to shine the light of Christ through our teaching. I can’t wait to see the ways God will move in their lives and in our lives as well.

My request is that you may support our team in this journey, and the best way you can support us is through constant prayer!

1. It’s going to be some long, taxing few weeks, constantly traveling and working with students. So first and foremost I ask that you pray that we all have an abundant amount of energy and good health to last us through even the most exhausting times.
2. We pray that through everything we’re doing in sharing, we may truly show Christ’s love, and do all things in a way that glorifies Him.
3. Pray that we will be bold in sharing our testimonies and the Gospel. Pray that God would speak through us and use us to plant seeds.
4. And pray that the students have open hearts, and that we’ll be good teachers!
God Bless! And to Him be the glory!
