26 feels like adulthood.
Like I've gotten some of my shit together and it not only looks it, but it kinda feels like it to.
Like I'm finally confident to say "I know what I'm doing" and express my discontent when someone brushes me off or tells me I look like I'm only 15. I'm not, I'm TWENTY-SIX.
I can cook, I can clean, I can teach, I can side-hustle, I can maintain a stable relationship with my family, friends, and husband.
All by the grace of God.
But that feels really good.
I'm not in a masters program yet, I haven't graduated a third time, I haven't become a director or climbed the corporate ladder at a monumental pace. Neither will I be on any list of "Top 25 under 25" or "Top 30 under 30" for that matter.
But comparison is the thief of all joy.
And I thank God for where I am now. I am really thankful.
So here's to my late twenties. Here's to more friends, community, faith-growing, loving others, working hard, and having fun.
