letters: to CLD

The Civic Leadership Development (the volunteer organization in Kelley under the Kelley Institute of Social Impact umbrella, yes I know that's long), has been my most genuine and worthwhile experience in Kelley. This isn't to discount the other organizations in the business school, this is just to say that CLD is a truly exceptional one.

The organization has no set requirements or commitment; you put in as much as you want. There is no application, no interview, no rejection/acceptance process. It runs counter to most every other club in Kelley. It's this group of people that would get up every Saturday morning and volunteer for 2-3 hours at organizations and businesses in the Bloomington community. It's people who wanted to learn more about the nonprofits and how they could help. It's this exceptional group of people who care, and who want to do something. My favorite people in Kelley are here.

Everything with CLD I did with heart. Sometimes I wondered why I couldn't say no to taking photos again, or creating another design, or going to another event. But honestly I have no regrets in doing any of it. I was so glad that I could do something worthwhile and use my time in a meaningful way. So thank you CLD. Thank you, exec board in 2014-15 that let me serve as an honorary member while acting as photographer, thank you to this year's exec for letting me be a part of the marketing board, thank you CLD for being such an awesome organization filled with such amazing people.

Sincerely,
Stephanie C.
