19 February 2017

like one of those 80's movies

We only have so many of these nights left.

Our little seniors group has been feeling nostalgic and making agreements for bi-annual reunions when our schedules will theoretically be less busy. Hard to believe we'll be out in the real world in just a few months.

But tonight was one of those nights I hope to remember. One of those nights that just felt like what senior year in college should feel like.
You know, with the strange mid-50's weather in the middle of February, the glorious golden hour, the glow of pinks and blues across Griffy Lake, the wispy colored clouds that appeared at sunset. The beer and wine we had because it got chilly, the apple strudels we toasted, and the brats we grilled over a wonderfully constructed fire, courtesy of M. Brats that fell in the fire and caught on fire but were still perfectly cooked. Sitting all together on the edge of the cliff, lying on a log, star gazing on an amazingly clear day while listening to songs played through the frisbee.

I'm going to miss these nights.
