[things of life #105]

dear God,

I realized the other day.
Does it really matter where I go to college [work]? Who’s going to go with me, the people I have to interact with, the environment or the campus [city], the state I’ll be in?
No.
No, it doesn’t. Because what truly should matter, should be whether or not I will be able to develop my faith, and whether I will be able to praise you fully and truly, and whether I will be able to glorify You in what I do.

Yes, I do kinda worry about the future, and where I’ll go, and I do have certain “preferences”, but it shouldn’t matter at all! If I’m going to go _______, then that’s where I’m going to go. As long as I can find a strong church family, christian friends to build me up, people I can reach out to, and a heart to serve and always always glorify you in any circumstances, That should be enough.

That should be enough for me.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify you Father which is in heaven” Matthew 5:16
And as Janice says, we are not light sources, we are only reflecting the light of God. Like a mirror should or the moon. But either way, we are to show YOUR light and YOUR love to those around us.
No matter where we are.
“Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”
James 4:13-15
Note to myself before the recruiting season.
