Safety Not Guaranteed.

Thus concludes my backpacking adventures.

In comparison to some people, I haven't traveled much. Compared to others, I've traveled a lot. I'm thankful nevertheless for the opportunities and places I've been; as the old adage says, the grass is not always greener on the other side.
The cathedrals, the palaces, even the mountains and landscapes all eventually look alike. Traveling itself is the experience, who you do it with and how you go about it.

I hope this doesn't ruin my future 'luck', but whenever I "wish" for something, I always wish for one thing: only good memories. Not necessarily happy or sad, just good. For every coin toss into a pool or any statue rubbing or time stamps: good memories only.

And I'm thankful, despite having lost a cardigan and scarf, sprained my wrist and missed a flight, that I only have good memories of the past two weeks. Wonderful memories of food and sights and people and conversations.

I could make an extensive list of travel tips and tricks but why travel with so many rules? So just a few to lead you along:
1. Travel without expectations. I promise you won't be disappointed.
2. It matters who you travel with. You'll spend a lot of time with them.
3. There's a lot money can't buy. You don't have to spend a lot to enjoy a city.
4. It's just another room, another building, another mountain, lake, etc, etc. It's okay if you don't see them all.
5. Kebabs are amazing.

“Perhaps someday you can have one city as easy to see as Illusions and as hard to forget as Reality.” --Norton Juster, Phantom Tollbooth

It's a beautiful world my friends, don't forget to enjoy life wherever you are.

  1. Aaaaaaaaa!?!? You sprained your wrist?! I'm so sorry! And I know how much your cardigans and scarves mean to you... I remember a particular pair of earmuffs. :'-( A very mature perspective.
