And some other general joys and blessings.
Yes, I'll be spending next semester in Glasgow, Scotland in an exchange program at the University of Strathclyde!! I actually found out last Monday, but haven't had the time to post anything about it. I'm insanely excited and amazed by how concrete it's all become. I will be in EUROPE for 5 months...and so soon too! I'll visit a million different art museums, live in a different country, experience a different culture, and with a bunch of new people I've never met. Isn't that crazy?! It's like when I came all the way here to live in Indiana. Not really, but it's pretty close if you think about it. Texas is basically its own country. We just don't have our own currency...yet.
We've had 6 new girls visit us at EPIC in the past two weeks; girls who saw our flyers and brought their roommates and girls I invited from the Navs. It's amazing though! The group was a wild bunch of 16 this past Friday. (That's twice our usual attendance.) I am however reminded that it is not for my sake or the group's sake that we expand, but for Christ's sake and His kingdom as we seek to show Christ and His good news to the Asian Americans on campus.
It's tempting to limit yourself to relationships with just Christian Asian Americans; they share an extra common trait with you than say, a white christian. But it's also important to see how God reaches everyone at all different points in all different ways. He's really awesome. And a relationship with Christ is still a stronger unifying trait than anything else.
And I don't think you should ever limit yourself to sharing the gospel or building friendships just with Asian Americans, but I certainly can't disagree that our shared culture is a great thing to build off of when talking about Christianity. So here's to building up His kingdom.
In other news, stir fry is bae and I'm so glad I don't have to eat sandwiches or salad or bad spaghetti every day. Thank the Lord and the Chinese for rice and soy sauce.
THE END.
