Lots of thoughts today. Typing typing typing.
I actually made New Year's Resolutions this year. I did them last friday night.
I didn't do them last year. Although last year was a year of tremendous growth and I saw God work in crazy ways, it lacked direction. I sputtered out and trailed off after the spiritual punch of DCCYC and ADVENT. The 'spiritual high': it actually got me this time. Plus, I gained 8 lbs in about 3 months and suffered a number of melt downs due to grades. That's not a fantastic thing.
So this year, I set myself some goals.
Spiritual, academic, physical, and personal.
I'm reading the bible everyday. But my resolution is not to read everyday, but to get through all the gospels. To do that, I probably have to read everyday. Two years ago, I read through most of the New Testament. I covered everything but the 4 Gospels, Acts, and Revelations. And that was a great year. It always felt so good to get back to God at the end of the day, to read his encouraging and instructing words, to read again and again about his love. Have you read Ephesians? Philippians?
"And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:6-7The list could go on forever. I'm excited for this year. I'm excited to see what God's going to do. I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen. With my summer completely still unknown, I-Core in the fall, applying for study abroads...who knows. Only God does.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
Have an amazing year y'all.
THE END.
