thanks.

Thank you for introducing me to the wonderful world of jazz music. I would never have discovered my love of 40's swing and big band music: Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman and Count Basie and Sonny Clark. Even if it required wrestling a bit of John Coltrane.
And Billy Joel (not jazz). That's good stuff too.

Thank you for your long winded messages on watches. I have a great appreciation of the qualities of a watch. Thanks for teaching me how to loop the long strap. I don't have the money to buy anything beyond a Timex, but watches are indeed quite fascinating, and I don't know anyone that loves them more than you do.

Thank you for loving art museums. For standing with me 2 inches away from the art observing every brushstroke and color until the cranky security guy/lady asks you to move away. And for doing that with every art work in the entire exhibit, even when everyone sat down an hour ago.

Thank you for introducing me to scary movies, to The Departed, to interesting Indie movies, and comedies. I enjoyed like 3/4 of them. But it was all an experience nevertheless. And they always filled up otherwise lonely days on my own.

Thanks for being my friend. It was brief and abrupt, but it was great that I could call you that, even for just a year. Maybe we'll be friends again someday, but I'm finally moving on now.
