freshman day #8

different viewpoints.

I have really chill schedules Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I went to a fellowship group yesterday called Clearnote Christian? or Campus Fellowship. It was quite interesting. There was only one person who chatted with me though, so that was kinda disappointing.

Today I made it to my math class on time after literally power walking the .9mile down to my class in the 15 minutes. What a work-out. But then you have to sit in a super crowded classroom all sweaty and gross for the rest of class, it's just awful.

A girl from InterVarsity also talked with me today, we met up at a Starbucks and talked about like the fellowship/what brought me here/what InterVarsity is about, etc. It was pretty interesting, I look forward to the call-out next Thursday. Their theme is something along the lines of creating an authentic community.

I visited the Navigators today and I actually really really enjoyed it. The worship/message wasn't anything spectacular, and the group was quite small, but the guy leading the group just spoke with such passion when he talked about the mission statement of the fellowship. It was a bit long-winded and I admit I got a bit glassy-eyed in the middle, but you could really tell how devoted, passionate and excited he was about the group and going out to reach the community at IU. Afterwards there were free ice cream sundaes and such, but I got to talk with a group of the upperclassmen there and it was really fun. There's this one Korean dude who looks like this dude I knew at Plano; it's quite uncanny. But they were so funny and I taught them all the hand signs for the schools in Texas LOL. They thought that was hilarious. But yep!

OH. So differing viewpoints. I found myself today, when explaining to these people in Christian groups 'why I decided on IU' (a quite popular question), speaking about how I felt God really led me to this school after much prayer and thinking and just how God provided in such an incredible way. But this was the first time I ever explained it that way. Normally it's, "I went to a summer camp here like a year ago and I really enjoyed it, plus I wanted to go out of state, haha."
Like shouldn't I explain it the same way no matter whom I'm speaking to?

Things to ponder about.

NOW, I am cramming all this homework in that I hadn't realized I had today and wondering how teachers can just dump homework on us like that, like come on I had other classes today why couldn't you tell me about this yesterday?

Crey.

THE END.
