Meeting new people.
So today was pretty crazy. A heck of a lot of walking. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk from one side of campus (my darn dorm) to the other (bookstore, and basically where everything takes place.) It's downhill on the way there, but uphill on the way back. Just delightful! PLUS. Walking in 85 degree heat. It doesn't SOUND bad, but considering I've been chilling in the A/C all day err day in my room/at church/at the mall/at the movies..... bad.
Today after academic advising and eating my chicken salad sandwich alone in my room, I rented my books (omg like seriously why does paper have to cost so much?!) and then attended recfest where I signed up for the e-mails for ballroom dancing and swing dancing ;)
THENN there was traditions and spirits of IU. (HOO HOO HOO HOOSIERS, HOO HOO HOO HOOSIERS) and then free dinner in the Union. And then Cru!
So Campus Crusades here is pretty much the better known Christian fellowship on campus. Navigators has a call-out tomorrow and I haven't heard anything about Intervarsity, but hopefully I can check all of those out. We sang Forever Reign and another song I had never heard before during the short worship set, but overall it was a really welcoming and nice experience.
I met a ton of people, mostly upperclassmen surprisingly, but also met some friendly international students actually willing to talk to me! One was "possibly/potentially Christian" which was really encouraging. I really hope I'm able to learn how to share the gospel in Chinese so maybe I can really reach out like that. I feel so bad I can't understand so much of what they say and I can't translate like ANYTHING either.
BUT OH YEAH. THERE ARE SO MANY INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS HERE. It is extremely difficult to find an Asian that speaks English here. Literally.
But anyways, hopefully God can work in me that way, I'm actually pretty excited about that possibility. PRAISE GOD. Pretty enjoyable day.
THE END.
