Wedding Vendors (Houston)

For reference! Wedding planning is so hard, honestly.
List below for all my 'vendors' - feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

$ - inexpensive, $$ - average, $$$ - expensive
(Let's be real, it's all expensive, but just to have some reference)

  • Invitations: Designed by myself, printed via Paper Culture
    • $ - 100% recycled invitations!
  • Website: Zola
    • We liked how you could contact guests directly from your Zola account, and as well how you could add other registries/items to your Zola registry without too many issues. The websites have pretty poor image/photo quality though.
  • Venue: The Orchard at Caney Creek
    • $$ - All in all, we loved the venue. The weather was gorgeous, the indoor and outdoor setting was PERFECT for a casual but intimate night with friends and family, and the food was good! We had some hiccups with the Day of Coordinator with the venue however, so you might consider getting an external DOC.
  • Dress: David's Bridal
    • $
  • Tailor: Bridals by Nancy Tailoring and Alterations
    • $ - Nancy is the least expensive tailor I found in the Houston loop area. She's a little hard to get a hold of and has really irregular hours, but she's otherwise easy to work with. Alterations were around ~$325, which included hemming on several layers of dress, taking in the shoulders and bust area, and 5 bustles.
  • Engagement ring: James Allen
  • Wedding rings: DeAguiar Designs on Etsy and James Allen
  • Ties: Dazi
    • $$
  • Bridesmaid dresses: Azazie
    • $$
  • Flowers (DIY'd): Flower Moxie  &  Fifty Flowers
    • $ - Pricier than Costco/Sam's Club flowers in bulk, but a wonderful selection of flowers and great helpful tips via Flower Moxie. She's the single best resource I've seen for planning DIY flowers.
  • Decorations: Thrifted, gifted, or collected. Would recommend looking through Facebook marketplace or the thrift store for decorations - so much can be reused!
  • Photographer: Leah Nicole
    • $$$ - there are cheaper options out there, but Leah was well worth it. She's the best! Would highly recommend her for engagement/family/wedding photos.
  • Videographer: Dana Lynn
    • $ - inexpensive but a less personal service. You don't work directly with a single videographer but rather the company that hires videographers based on the project. The videographers on the day of were very friendly and easy to work with, but you could tell they were following our photographer's expertise on shooting locations, framing, and posing the shots.
  • Makeup: Megan Si
    • Megan is incredibly talented and I was so grateful she could come out and do my makeup :)
  • Hair: DIY. Thank you Youtube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWHhLsjANV8
  • Cake: Central Market
    • $ - we could not BELIEVE how great a deal we got on our wedding cake and 1/2 + 1/4 sheet cakes, all for under $100!

You can always check with the vendor and ask if you can get a discount if you can pay in full up front (if you have the means and they have a payment schedule, generally for items >$1k). If we knew there would be a worldwide pandemic, we might have done some things differently, but oh well.
