three months

It's hard to believe what just three months can do in upturning your life. 

We're no half way into 2020 and I'm turning 25, wondering how I lost most of my 24th year to planning a wedding that never happened. 

Crazy how quickly time flies. Crazy how quickly things - plans, belongings, and things that we found security in can change or disappear altogether. 

In this moment, I recall the words of James. 

"No listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money. Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, "if it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that."
James 4:13-15

But in this moment, I am thankful. I am thankful for how good God has been, for how blessed and privileged I am to be here, celebrating 25 years, to have my family in good health, a job to go to each day, a husband, and a home.
