[omg I can't believe I came up with that pun]
Today was day #25 in Minneapolis.
Hard to believe that the summer is going so fast, and yet, how short a time I've been here so far. If there's anything I learned while abroad, it's that time moves fast. And in 7 short weeks, I'll be home, and in 8, back at school.
So I've been attempting to pack my weekends (and sometimes weekdays) as full as possible. Almost thankful that my WiFi is so bad and my house is so muggy that I have to get out. This city is pretty awesome though. Yesterday we perused a food truck festival, where they shut down two blocks and hosted 50 food trucks and some live music. Like who does that? Shut down a couple streets for some fun. Last week I visited the Stone Arch Bridge Festival with a million different local artists showcasing their work on the other side of the river. How are there so many cool festivals every week?
Next week I'll be home.
Unexpected pit stop this summer, but it'll be good to be with family.
As great as this city is though, I have never been more terrified of graduating and starting work. If I wasn't dreading it enough even before I started this internship, I'm really apprehensive now. The sheer thought of having to restart your life somewhere and make relationships and friendships from scratch...all the while managing stress at work, long commutes, and chores. Even if starting over in Indiana was hard, in real life there are no clubs or fellowships to join. Where do you go from there?
This is why, I try not to think too far ahead. It seems as if everything in the now is just peachy, so let's hope it lasts as long as possible. #ignoranceisbliss
