God does this crazy, annoying thing, where He just causes me so much grief, stress, and worry on the first day of my school year. Maybe it's just to show how He can handle all things for the rest of the year, if only I learn to depend on Him.
Throw back anyone?
"The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold...For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure." Psalm 18: 2, 31-32I didn't cry this time though.
I checked my luggage in exactly 8 minutes late. I get to Indianapolis, but I leave the airport after waiting for 4 hrs and 35 minutes for campus, with the belief that I'd get my luggage delivered by midnight. Except, they didn't know where my suitcases were.
It's not until a full 12 hrs and 46 minutes after I land, I get news that they've finally located (one of two) suitcases in Houston.
I am blessed, so blessed though.
Thank God for friends that help you move your stuff from storage at 11:30 at night. Thank God for friends that let you use their shower cause you don't yet have a shower curtain. Thank God for friends that offer their clothes and pillows and time and cars. Thank God that I had shampoo and soap and facewash in storage. Thank God I have a bed and a bedframe and blankets and sheets to sleep on tonight.
Even when it seems the worst has happened, there are still so many things to praise God for, so many reasons to trust that He has a reason and a method in all this madness. Trusting in Him inevitably brings a peace in your heart and mind that no baggage incident and claims personnel, or even friends or family, can offer.
He is so good.
And I am so thankful for the peace He brought me today.
I have sucessfully survived my first day back in Indiana. Praise the Lord. And just to clarify, my 'years' always begin from the day I come back to campus, and end the day I leave for home.
the end.
