family vacations.
This is the strangest family vacation really, who takes a Christmas vacation to San Antonio/Houston/Galveston??
The Riverwalk, Sea World, Chinatown, Moody Gardens (that's new). That's pretty much what my parents had on the agenda for us. Oh and we stopped by the Alamo on Christmas Eve for Timmy but it was closed (predictably). It's quite difficult to amuse Timmy though.
The river walk is always sorta new for me: yes this is my third time there but I have an awful memory. Plus I love the way the Christmas lights reflect off the water. They had these paper bags that lined the walkway with candles in each of them. We passed a little group of carolers singing Christmas music a number of times and they sang in quite lovely harmony.
My parents tried hard to put together a family vacation that we might all enjoy, so I am so very grateful to them for that. Obviously aquariums and rainforest exhibits and SeaWorld are a bit young for the bunch of us (you know it's bad when the workers look younger than you do), but it wasn't too awful. And there was one exhibit in the 'rainforest' where we all got pretty nice macro photos of butterflies, haha. It's hard to please the bunch of us with such a large age gap, and we don't have all the money in the world, so family bonding times in comfortable hotel rooms watching Monsters, Inc. and 21 Jump Street (well that escalated quickly), eating Jack-in-the-Box for lunch on Christmas, and conversing over photography techniques are sufficiently enjoyable for me. God's blessed me with a truly incredible family, and I am so thankful for His abundant blessings.
THE END.
